BIOS Tweaks and the Guided BIOS Walkthrough

There are two separate BIOS features under Hardware, and they do very different things. Both are Premium.

BIOS Tweaks

These are settings that live in your BIOS but can be applied from inside Windows. You tap once and they apply, with no restart into firmware needed. They aim at stability and consistent performance rather than raw speed.

The guided walkthrough

This one changes nothing on your PC. It is a walkthrough that shows you which settings to look for in your own BIOS, what each one does, and what to set it to. You then make the changes yourself when you next restart into it.

This is deliberate. Writing directly to firmware settings is genuinely risky and we are not willing to do it for you.

Before you go into your BIOS

1

Write down or photograph any setting before you change it, so you can put it back

2

Change one thing at a time and restart between changes

If something goes wrong you will know what caused it.
3

Know how to clear your BIOS settings on your board before you start

Every board has a way, and it is much better to look it up now than while staring at a black screen.

If your PC will not start after a BIOS change

This is why Step 3 matters. Clearing the BIOS settings on your board returns everything to defaults and your PC will start again. Nothing on your drives is affected, and RIP Tweaks is not involved in getting you back.

Why we cover BIOS at all

Some of the biggest gains on a modern PC are settings that ship disabled from the factory, particularly memory speed. Windows cannot reach them. That is worth explaining even though we cannot do it for you.
