A Game Stopped Launching After You Applied Tweaks
If a competitive game refuses to start after you used the app, there are two likely causes and one of them is easy to miss.
Check fan control first
Advanced fan control uses a low level kernel driver. Some anti-cheat systems, including Valorant and FACEIT, may refuse to launch while a driver like that is active.
If you enabled advanced fan control, turn it off and try the game again. Disabling it hands your fans straight back to Windows, so there is nothing else to undo.
Check the security components
Some anti-cheat systems require Windows security features that debloating can disable. If a game blames security or refuses to verify your system, run the Windows Hello and PIN repair on the Fixes page, which restores those components. It is specifically the one to use on AMD systems.
If neither applies
Note whether it is one game or several
Verify the game files through its launcher
If it started right after a specific tweak, revert that tweak and test again
If you cannot narrow it down, restore your restore point and reapply tweaks a few at a time
To be clear about bans
Nothing in RIP Tweaks modifies a game, reads game memory or assists your aim. Changing Windows settings is not against any game’s rules. What can happen is an anti-cheat refusing to run alongside a kernel driver, which is a refusal to start rather than a punishment.
Tell us which game
Send us a message from the support bubble at the bottom right with the game name and what you changed. That combination is usually enough for us to recognise it.
