Where to Find What Is New in RIP Tweaks

If you want to know what changed in the version you are running, there are two places to look, and one of them finds you automatically.

In the app

After an update installs, a What Is New panel appears the first time you open the app on the new version. It sums up what changed in that release.

On our website

The patch notes section carries the same summaries, including for releases you may have skipped.

Why the notes are short

We keep release notes deliberately brief. A detailed public list of what changed in each build is also a detailed public list of what used to be wrong, and that is not something we want to hand out. If a change affects how you use the app, it will be in the notes.

Finding out which version you are on

Open Settings in the sidebar. Your version is shown there. It is worth knowing before you contact us, because it saves a round trip.

Do I have to update

The app updates itself when it launches, so normally you are already current without doing anything. Occasionally an update is required rather than optional, and the app will say so and will not continue on the old version. That happens when staying on the old build would leave something genuinely broken.

If the What Is New panel keeps appearing

It should show once per version. If it appears every launch, that usually means the app cannot save its settings, which is worth reporting. Open the support bubble at the bottom right of any page and send us a message. A person replies by email.
