Every Metric the FPS Counter Can Show
The FPS counter in RIP Reticle shows far more than frames per second. You choose which of these appear on your overlay, so you can keep it minimal or read your whole system at a glance.
Frame rate
- FPS average, minimum and maximum
- One per cent low and zero point one per cent low
- Frame time in milliseconds
Processor
- CPU load, temperature and clock speed
- CPU power and voltage
- CPU fan speed
Graphics
- GPU load, temperature and clock speed
- GPU memory used, power and voltage
- GPU fan speed
Memory, storage and network
- RAM used and utilisation
- Disk read and write speed
- Download and upload speed
The ones actually worth watching
The one per cent low is the most useful number here. Your average can look fine while the game still feels bad, and the one per cent low is roughly your worst moments, which is what you feel as stutter.
After that, GPU load tells you whether your graphics card is the limit. If it sits near full while your processor does not, more frames means a better card. If it does not, something else is holding you back.
Keeping it readable
Showing everything at once turns the overlay into a wall of numbers you stop reading. Pick three or four for normal play and turn the rest on when you are actually diagnosing something.
