Graphics Tweaks Stop With Codes RIPFSNQ57 or RIP982CQ3

If the AMD or Intel graphics optimization stops immediately and shows RIPFSNQ57 or RIP982CQ3, the tweak could not identify your graphics card and stopped on purpose. Nothing was changed on your PC. This one is a bug on our side.

What actually happens

Before the tweak changes anything it looks through the list of display adapters Windows keeps, to find the right card to tune. It only checks the first ten entries in that list. If your graphics card sits further down the list, the tweak concludes it is not there and stops.

Why your card might be further down

Anything that adds a display adapter takes a slot. Streaming and remote desktop software, virtual camera tools, virtual machine software and some multi monitor utilities all add one. Install a few of those over the years and a real graphics card can end up past the tenth slot.

The other reason

You may simply not have that brand of card. Running the AMD optimization on a PC that has only Intel and NVIDIA graphics will stop the same way.

The good news

The tweak stops before it writes a single setting, so there is no half applied state to clean up and nothing to revert. Your PC is exactly as it was.

What to do now

1

Check which graphics card you actually have

On Home, click More on the Graphics tile and look at the graphics entry.
2

Run the optimization that matches that brand rather than the other one

3

If it matches and it still stops, send us a message from the support bubble at the bottom right with the code

We are fixing the detection, and knowing your setup helps us confirm it.

Can I still tune my graphics card

Yes. The individual graphics tweaks on the GPU page apply separately and are not affected in the same way. You can also use the driver settings walkthrough for your card, which changes nothing automatically and simply shows you what to set.
