Track every update, fix, and improvement to RIP Tweaks.

Version 6.5

October 25, 2026

New

  • PC setup after a fresh Windows install: RIP Tweaks offers a quick setup for your network and graphics drivers, your monitor's full refresh rate, a browser, your apps and what starts with Windows. Every step can be skipped, even while it is still working. A new refresh rate only stays when you click Keep, like in Windows' own display settings: with no answer your monitor goes back by itself.
  • Fan control on desktop PCs with an NVIDIA graphics card: Silent, Balanced, Turbo and custom curves now drive the graphics card fans right away, with no driver to install.
  • Keychron keyboards in RGB lighting: change the colour and effect of your Keychron right in RIP Tweaks, by cable or through the 2.4 GHz receiver. No Keychron Launcher website needed.
  • Device batteries: Customization shows the battery level of your wireless keyboard, mouse, headset and controller: Logitech, Razer, SteelSeries, Corsair, HyperX, Pulsar, Keychron, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and many more. A device that is asleep shows its last known level.
  • Apps: the official icons of every app.

Changed

  • After an update, RIP Tweaks shows a short "RIP Tweaks updated to" message instead of the What's new window.

Fixed

  • A new install opens on the newest version with the newest screens right away, instead of showing them only after a restart.
  • Windows Installed apps now shows the version of RIP Tweaks you have.
  • NVIDIA driver install: it no longer gets stuck or leaves the PC without a graphics driver, finds your graphics card even when no driver is installed, picks the current driver, and checks the driver really works before it says done. RIP Tweaks then restarts by itself and brings you back.
  • RIP Tweaks opens again by itself after an update.
  • Potato graphics and the other NVIDIA profiles no longer fail with "DRS_SaveSettings failed: NVAPI_ACCESS_DENIED". A setting your driver doesn't support is skipped instead of cancelling the whole profile.
  • NVIDIA profiles now land in the profile your game really uses, also when the driver names the game a little differently, and RIP Tweaks tells you when a game file could not be linked.
  • Home: CPU, GPU and RAM usage now match Task Manager and no longer jump around.
  • ASUS Aura and MSI Mystic Light motherboards, and HyperX keyboards and mice, now show up in RGB lighting.
  • Enable lighting works again on a new install (the lighting download had stopped working).
